The idea came mostly by chance? Browsing and reading through some technical media periodicals I stumbled across an article focused on improving hi-def video streaming performance. 

The research was mainly a deep tech dive into the challenges the engineers were trying to overcome. Their goal was to improve online video streaming performance without adding a bunch of additional bandwidth requirements to do so. It turns out it’s not that easy to do. It was their approach to the problem that caught and held my attention.

They ruled out many hardware upgrades and attacked the problem from many different angles. 

The break-through came when they discovered hi-def video streaming performance was vastly improved when they introduced a much more powerful clock to control the network’s timing accuracy. The increased precision and accuracy of the time domain gave them improved graphic performance without the need of overwhelming the bandwidth resources of the network. It was win-win.

This idea of hyper-clocking the network for video streaming performance gains really got me thinking. 

This was the idea that took hold. 

We all know the bandwidth demands for hi-def video streaming files are much more taxing than their corresponding audio files. If it can provide significant quality gains for video, then what can it do for the easier to handle audio files. I was intrigued to say the least. 

I was on a journey to apply this research to Hi Fi Audio. After doing a great deal of research, trial and error and a ton of product beta testing I landed on the combination of the AfterDark Master Clock to go with the venerable UpTone Audio EtherREGEN. 

The combination of these two very different, unique, specialty devices represented the perfect solution to accomplish the goal of mirroring the results the hi-def video engineers obtained.

Needless to say I was super excited and knew I was onto something here! I has no idea it would be this good! The results I was able to obtain were far and above anything I could have hoped for. 

I honestly could not believe how good it was! 

I was blown away. I couldn’t believe how much it improved my reference system. It was a legit audio discovery and digital audio will never be the same!
